The call for proposals of projects to be subsidised under the Energy Storage Systems scheme financed from the National Recover and Resilience Plan opened on 17 February 2025. The scheme’s objective is to build a large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS).

What projects are eligible for the aid?

  • construction of a battery energy storage system with the capacity of 0.9 GWh and operating time from 4 to 5 hours, e.g. battery containers, inverters, transformers, assembly of battery modules, auxiliary systems (e.g. fire detection and protection, air conditioning, DC/DC or DC/AC converters, active and passive safeguards) including system tests and acceptance (mandatory scope);
  • construction of grid connection and the associated infrastructure (optional scope);
  • storage system configuration and adaptation (optional scope).

Who is eligible for the aid?

The aid is available to businesses having their registered office or a branch office in Poland (excluding financial companies).

The call for proposal's budget is 893,460,000 zloty. The aid will be provided in the form of subsidies of up to 45% of eligible costs which may be spent by 30 June 2026 at the latest.

Proposals may be submitted until 14 March 2025.

The key success factors will be:

  • readiness to implement the project;
  • the subsidy amount applied for against the planned installed power and total capacity of the storage system;
  • CO2 reduction.

Regardless of the above-mentioned scheme, we would like to remind you about the ongoing call for proposals of projects eligible for aid under the scheme called Aid for the use of storage systems and other facilities to stabilise the grid – for Distribution Grid Operators, which is open until 30 June 2025.
