Aid for energy-intensive sectors due to prices of natural gas and electricity in 2024

This will be the third scheme implementing the Act of 29 September 2022 on business aid schemes due to the energy market situation in 2022–2024. 

The scheme will offer aid to energy-intensive companies that predominantly conduct business listed in sections B and C of the Polish Classification of Activities (abbreviated in Polish as PKD), that is extraction and industrial processing. Energy-intensive companies are those in which electricity and natural gas bills in 2021 represented no less than 3% of total sold output. The aid will be provided in either a basic or extended variant.

The basic aid can reach 50% of eligible costs, but not more than 4 million euro calculated jointly for all associated enterprises.

Eligible costs will include the excessive costs of buying natural gas and electricity over their price increase by 50%, calculated as the difference between the average price of the energy medium in 2021 and the average price in the first half of 2024.

Increased aid is addressed to businesses which: 

The increased aid can be up to 80% of eligible costs, but not more than 40 million euro calculated jointly for all associated enterprises.

The call for applications for compensation for the first half of 2024 is planned around August/September 2024. Aid in both options will be paid out until 20 December 2024.
