Whistleblower protection system

A comprehensive whistleblower protection system has been provided for in Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law. EU Member States, including Poland, are obliged to transpose into national law the solutions provided for in the Directive by 17 December 2021.

Whistleblowers are individuals who report or disclose information on breaches of law in certain areas, obtained in connection with their work. Enterprises must protect whistleblowers and introduce anti-retaliation measures as well as an internal procedure for reporting breaches and ensuring a follow-up.
