14 April 2023

The Act amending the Labour Code with respect to work-life balance was published in the Journal of Laws on 4 April 2023.

The statute will become law 21 days after its promulgation, i.e. on 26 April 2023.

Key changes that will apply from that date include:

  • additional holiday entitlements for employees,
  • changes to trial and fixed-term contracts and new obligations for employers,
  • extended written statement of employment particulars that employers will have to provide to employees,
  • the obligation to provide written reasons for termination of fixed-term employment contracts by employers.

We have already reported on other important issues related to the amendment and implementation of the work-life balance directives at the legislative stage.
