Whistleblowing refers to the disclosure of illegal or immoral activities of organisations. Whistleblowers are the persons who report such breaches.

Whistleblower protection

Whistleblower protection guidance is included in a European Parliament and Council directive. Businesses must:
  • enable whistleblowing;
  • protect whistleblowers from retaliation.
