Subsidies and loans for RES in agricultural sector

The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has announced a call for applications in the new support scheme called Rural Energy. The programme aims at increasing the use of renewable energy sources in rural and suburban municipalities. The programme has a budget of 1 billion zloty and lasts from 2022 to 2030.

Who is eligible for funding?


Aid from the Rural Energy programme is available to farmers and energy co-operatives, including new ones, and their enterprise-members.

A farmer may receive a subsidy for: 

  • a photovoltaic and wind plant with electrical power below 50 kW and no more than 1 MW,
  • a hydro power plant and an agricultural biogas plant with electrical power above 10 kW and no more than 1 MW as well as a heat plant above 30 kW and no more than 3 MW,
  • an energy bank – if integrated with the above systems.

An energy co-operative or its member may obtain aid for:

  • a photovoltaic or wind system, a hydro power and biogas (including agricultural) plant, with electrical power above 10 kW and no more than 10 MW as well as a heat plant above 30 kW and no more than 30 MW,
  • an energy bank – if integrated with the above systems.

Applications are accepted until 15 December 2023 or until the allocated funds run out.

The allocation amount in the current call is 100 million zloty, of which:
  • amount allocated for funding as a loan – up to 51,5 million zloty
  • amount allocated for funding as a subsidy – up to 48,5 million zloty.
