Increased checks by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection

Amendments to the Civil Code and the Consumer Rights Act made to transpose the EU directives raising the level of consumer protection became law on 1 January 2023. 
 
Amended legislation imposes a number of new obligations on retailers.
 
Last week has seen increased checks by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection and trade inspection authorities to monitor the implementation of the new regulations. This information is particularly important for retailers who have not yet adapted their product labels and tags or updated their terms of sale to the new regulations.
