26 April 2024

The Minister of Finance announced during a conference held on 26 April 2024 a new go-live date of the National e-Invoicing System KSeF. The Minister declared that the government would propose two dates for KSeF introduction.

KSeF will become obligatory on:

  • 1 February 2026 for enterprises whose sales exceeded PLN 200 million in the previous tax year;
  • 1 April 2026 for other enterprises.

The KSeF changes the way in which invoices are issued, stored, sent and received, which will pose a number of challenges for businesses, mainly with adapting their finance and accounting software to the new laws.

Despite the postponement of the effective date of the new obligations, companies should not interrupt the implementation processes they have already started – especially that the changes will affect mainly the technical infrastructure on the side of the Ministry of Finance. Given the required workload and the need to involve a number of specialists, businesses are encouraged to use the extra time and prepare in advance for the upcoming changes. This will help them to avoid mistakes in the future and tailor the target system to their individual needs.
