Green loan

The updated schedule provides for a new deadline for submitting applications for a green loan. There is now only one call for applications in 2023 scheduled between 13 June and 17 August.

The green loan provided under the FENG programme is to be used to upgrade the existing infrastructure to reduce primary energy consumption. Primary energy savings must be at least 30% compared to existing consumption.

The scope and level of support for green projects varies depending on the selected type of state aid.

Funding is provided in the form of a non-refundable subsidy – the green bonus – in addition to a commercial loan taken from one of the accredited banks.

Small and medium-sized enterprises as well as large mid-cap enterprises classified as small and mid-caps, operating in Poland, may apply for funding.

Research & development grant

Enterprises can still apply for a nationwide grant for the development of new or significantly improved, nationally innovative products and services as part of their research and development (R&D) activity.

The current call for applications under the SMART track of the FENG programme runs until 30 June 2023. The next and at the same time last call for applications for single enterprises this year is scheduled between 6 July and 31 August 2023.

Funding is provided to develop complex projects involving:
  • R&D (mandatory for large enterprises) or
  • implementation of innovations arising from R&D work.

Supported projects may optionally include:
  • R&D infrastructure,
  • digitalisation,
  • environmental projects,
  • internationalisation,
  • training.

The minimum value of an R&D project for large enterprises is 1 million zloty.

The amount of funding will depend on the scope of the project and the status of the enterprise and may be up to 80% of eligible costs.

Small, medium and large enterprises operating in Poland may apply for funding.
