A call for proposals of projects eligible for “Ecological Loan" financed from the European Funds for the Modern Economy (abbreviated in Polish to FENG) has been announced.

The call is for proposals from businesses for projects improving broadly understood energy efficiency through:

  • energy saving, including thermo-modernisation of buildings;
  • replacement of existing energy sources with more ecological ones;
  • replacement of equipment, systems and technological lines with more ecological ones.

The proposals can be submitted from 25 April to 25 July 2024.

Beneficiaries

The programme is addressed to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as small mid-cap and large mid-cap enterprises, meaning those hiring up to 3,000 people, operating in Poland.

The aid is available for expenditures for:

  • acquisition of tangible assets;
  • purchase of construction work and materials;
  • purchase and installation of renewable energy sources (only as part of the project);
  • thermo-modernisation of buildings;
  • production infrastructure upgrades;
  • acquisition of intangible assets in the form of patents, licences, know-how, and other intellectual property rights;
  • studies, expert opinions, concepts and technical designs developed by external advisers in connection with the project.

One of the requirements to obtain the grant is to show that the project has saved at least 30% of primary energy, as evidenced by an energy audit.

Aid intensity

The aid intensity ranges from 15% to 80% depending of the type of expenditure, the enterprise size and the project location.

The maximum value of eligible costs is 50 million euro. There is no minimum expenditure. The aid will be granted in the form of an ecological bonus, i.e. a subsidy on a commercial loan taken out for the project.

At Rödl & Partner, we advise enterprises on grants and support them in applying for funding from aid programmes financed by national and EU funds. To learn more visit our website or contact our experts.
