European Funds for the Modern Economy: new dates of calls for proposals in 2026

​​​The European Funds for the Modern Economy (abbreviated in Polish as FENG) is the largest domestic scheme supporting innovation and economic development in Poland. It is addressed to, among others:​


  • businesses (especially SMEs);
  • scientific and research institutions;
  • research and industrial consortia;
  • business environment centres.

The scheme offers funding for projects involving research and development, implementation of innovations, digital transformation, internationalisation, green economy and skill development.

The Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy announced in December 2025 an updated schedule of the calls for proposals from participants in the FENG 2021-2027. The update postpones deadlines and clarifies project types and applicant categories.

Major calls – 2026 


R&D projects in enterprises (development of innovative products and technologies) – SMART path

Objective: industrial research and development work leading to product or technological innovations.

  • Individual SMEs: 26/02/2026 – 31/03/2026 and October–November 2026
  • Business consortia (with research organisations/NGOs): 09/04/2026–12/06/2026 and 07/08/2026–16/10/2026
  • Individual large enterprises: 23/03/2026–22/05/2026​


Implementation of R&D results – SMART path

Objective: aid for projects that implement outcomes of research and development in business.
  • Individual SMEs: April–May 2026 

Foreign expansion through promotion of innovative SME brands

Objective: aid for promotion of product brands of Polish SMEs through the Polish Economy Brand (Marka Polskiej Gospodarki) – participation in trade fairs, promotional campaigns, building recognition of Polish brands abroad.
  • Individual SMEs – 05/11/2025–08/01/2026 and 05/11/2026–17/12/2026

Green loan 

Objective: aid for projects that improve energy efficiency and reduce primary energy consumption through ecological bonuses (partial repayment of loans)
  • Applicants: SMEs and other businesses that hire up to 5,000 employees (groupwide): 24/10/2025–08/01/2026
