Subsidies for projects reducing energy consumption in large and medium-sized enterprises

In addition to the pending call for proposals of the so-called “ecological credit" under the European Funds for the Modern Economy 2021–2027 programme (FENG), which ends on 8 January 2026, a new programme has been launched to support business investments targeting reduction of primary energy consumption.

Applications under the measure named “Improvement of energy efficiency (including installation of RES) in large and medium-sized enterprises" within the framework of the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2021-2027 (FENIKS) may be submitted until 27 February 2026.

What and for whom?

The subsidies are available to:

  • large enterprises (except suppliers of energy services to other businesses);
  • medium-sized enterprises.

The subsidies may be used to e.g.:

  • modernise plant buildings for energy efficiency;
  • improve energy efficiency of manufacturing processes;
  • improve efficiency of in-house utility circulation, including heat recovery systems, transportation systems, lighting, auxiliary systems;
  • install RES equipment, including energy storage systems;
  • install facilities for renewable hydrogen production, storage and transport.

As regards buildings, the minimum required level of primary energy savings is 30% (except in historical buildings). As regards technology processes – 10%.

Budget and form of aid

This call’s budget is over 184 million zloty.
The financing of up 100% of eligible project costs is in the form of soft interest-free loans from the Cohesion Fund (CF) or hard loans from domestic funds of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (Polish abbreviation: NFOŚiGW).

Importantly, once the required ecological effects are achieved, the loan may be partly forgiven:

  • up to 30% of the loan amount in large enterprises;
  • up to 49% in medium-sized enterprises.

Such aid greatly reduces the net project cost and increases its cost effectiveness, especially when it comes to modernisation and energy projects.

Why is it worth it?

The programme addresses key challenges – reduction of primary energy consumption, curbing of greenhouse gas emission, and the industry’s transition to the ecological and energy-efficient economy.
It offers companies real support of their modernisation and eco-friendly projects affecting both infrastructure and production processes.

How to apply?

In the face of growing energy costs and ambitious climate goals, this year’s call for proposals offers a real opportunity to carry out projects that will bring tangible savings to your business and strengthen its competitiveness.
If you need help with analysing your options, preparing the documents or evaluating your projects’ potential, we are available for you. We would be glad to assist you at every stage of the project.
