The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) and the National Centre for Research and Development have announced calls for applications for funding of investment and R&D projects in digital technologies and deep tech in two tracks of the STEP initiative: “Innovativeness” and “Strategic Independence”.

Track A:

R&D and investment projects that bring an innovative or state-of-the-art or breakthrough element with significant economic potential to the EU internal market.
The measure is designed to support businesses by funding projects that produce state-of-the-art and breakthrough digital technologies – known as critical technologies. The funding is available for research and development as well as production of those technologies and components necessary for such production.

Track B:

R&D and investment projects that contribute to reducing or combating the European Union's strategic dependence.
Funding is available for projects involving critical digital technologies that contribute to reducing or preventing the strategic dependencies of the EU, e.g. by increasing manufacturing capacity or strengthening security of supply of key production means, components and technologies.
Digital technologies may involve advanced semi-conductors, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, advanced connectivity and navigation, detection, robotics and autonomous systems.
Deep tech innovations must involve at least two critical technologies from various sectors covered by the STEP initiative.

Beneficiaries

Applications for funding may be submitted by SMEs and large enterprises, including their consortia.
Funding is available for R&D, purchases of machinery, acquisition of intangible assets (licences, know-how), construction work, purchases of building materials, as well as real property required to produce critical technologies or their value chain links.

Mirco, small and medium-sized enterprises may additionally get funding for consulting on innovativeness and other advisory services supporting the project development.
Maximum project subsidy in the form of a grant is 140–150 million zloty, and each call has a budget of 150 million zloty. The level of subsidies depends on the state aid scheme selected for the project and the category of the applicant.

The call for applications will last:

  • from 31 July to 2 October 2025 for investment projects
  • from 15 September to 29 October 2025 (track A) and from 8 September to 22 October (track B) for research and development projects.
