Since Brexit, businesses have been facing new barriers to trade, cross-border exchange and free movement of people, services and capital between the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK). The diagnoses carried out show that the UK's exit from the EU has been a significant challenge for Polish businesses regardless of their size, industry or region of operation.

The Brexit Adjustment Reserve has been established under Regulation (EU) 2021/1755 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 October 2021 in order to at least partially compensate for financial losses incurred by enterprises.

In Poland, the Re_Open UK Programme has been launched under that scheme and has been managed by the Łódź Special Economic Zone. The programme offers funding for Polish enterprises that have been adversely affected by Brexit.

Application deadlines for Re_Open UK

From 15 September to 21 October 2022 funding may be applied for the following types of projects:

  • investment activities to support new business development to recover revenue streams lost as a result of Brexit;
  • adaptation to new terms of trade with the UK;
  • participation in international trade fairs, exhibitions, economic missions, i.e. search for new export destinations.

The call budget is approx. 56.25 million euro.

Further calls for proposals are anticipated from 16 January to 6 February 2023 and from 6 to 27 March 2023
If you are a micro, small, medium or large enterprise operating in Poland and have been adversely affected by the UK's withdrawal from the EU, please contact us.

Our new investment expert will be happy to answer your questions about the programme and provide you with comprehensive support in applying for funding.
