Entities obliged to file annual financial statements must do it by electronic means only. This means that they need an electronic signature to be able to submit the documentation to the National Court Register or the National Revenue Administration.

Good to know

Electronic signature is the digital counterpart of the traditional handwritten signature. It triggers the same legal effects, but is more secure and cannot be forged. E-signature is a commercial product. What is important is that it is valid from one to three years, and has to be renewed after it expires.

Businesses need an e-signature to sign the registration form they file with the Central Register of Beneficial Owners. E-signature also enables communication with public administration authorities, suppliers and customers.
